The Celebration Story

The Story of the Day

There is something wonderfully poetic about a surname that becomes a theme, a promise, and a prayer all at once. Ryno Blom and Brigitte came to their wedding with a single vision: let it flower. And flower it did — in every detail, every colour, every carefully considered corner of a day that felt like a love letter to the French countryside, written from the heart of South Africa. Eighty guests gathered for an affair that was intimate by design and lavish in spirit. The bridal preparations set the tone immediately — a veil embroidered with the words "Laat dit Blom" in gold thread, laid out alongside white gloves, amber drop earrings, a copy of Bruid magazine and a bottle of Versace perfume. It was the kind of flat lay that tells you everything about a bride before she's even walked down the aisle: she had thought about every single thing. The bridal party carried the same warmth — bridesmaids in tonal shades of dusty rose and blush, and flower girls in white broderie anglaise dresses with straw hats adorned with delicate gypsophila. Joyful, sun-drenched, and completely at ease. Then came the reception — and the view alone would have been enough. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls framed the golden Gauteng hills at dusk, rolling and warm in the fading light, as if the landscape itself had dressed for the occasion. Swathes of white fabric draped across the ceiling caught hundreds of fairy lights, turning the room into something between a cloud and a constellation. The main table sat beneath it all, dressed in clusters of ivory and amber dahlias, garden roses and lush greenery spilling to the floor — copper taper candles casting a flickering glow as the sun disappeared behind the hills. It was, from first detail to last light, a day that bloomed exactly as it was meant to.
